Back to Eden began long before there was a storefront, a café, or even a business plan.

It began in our home.

​

As parents of six children, our desire to live a healthier life grew right alongside our family. With each child, we became more intentional about the food we put on our table, the products we brought into our home, and the way we cared for the bodies God gave us.

​

We started asking more questions. Reading more labels.

Growing more of our own food. Raising animals. Learning where our food came from and realizing that sometimes, getting back to the basics really is better.

What began as a desire to care well for our own family became a passion for helping other families do the same.

From Our Family to Yours

Our journey eventually led us to open Back to Eden Health & Wellness in Urbana, Ohio, where we have had the privilege of serving our community through holistic health services, education, quality supplements, natural products, and encouragement.

​

But the dream continued to grow.

We wanted to create something that brought healthy living into the everyday — not just something you think about when you're struggling with your health, but something you can enjoy around a table, over a cup of coffee, while grabbing lunch, or while picking up wholesome foods for your family.

And from that dream came Back to Eden Café & Market.

This is our newest adventure, but its roots go all the way back to the beginning.

Getting Back to the Way God Designed It

​

The name Back to Eden has always represented something deeper to us.

​

In Genesis, Eden paints a beautiful picture of God's original creation, life, nourishment, simplicity, purpose, and fellowship with Him.

​

We know we can't literally return to the Garden of Eden, but we believe there is tremendous value in getting back to the basics: real food, simple ingredients, caring for our bodies, supporting one another, slowing down enough to gather around the table, and being grateful for what God has provided.

Our faith in Jesus Christ is at the heart of who we are. We don't believe health is about perfection, fear, or chasing the latest trend. We believe our bodies are a gift from God and that caring for them is one way we can practice good stewardship of what He has entrusted to us.

Our hope for Back to Eden Café & Market is that when you walk through our doors, you feel like you're part of something.

A place where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee.

A place where wholesome food doesn't have to be boring.

A place to discover better ingredients and products for your home.

A place where local farmers, makers, families, and small businesses can be supported.

A place where someone knows your name.

And most importantly, a place where people feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

We love our community, and we believe strong communities are built when people choose to invest in one another. Whenever possible, we want to support local, encourage healthier choices, and help make quality food and products more accessible to the families around us.

​

We're parents raising six children. We're a family that has learned, changed, grown, made mistakes, and continued striving to do better. Our children have been one of our greatest motivations to keep learning about health and to create something that can make healthier living a little easier for other families, too.

​

What started around our own family table has grown into something we now get to share with yours.

We are incredibly thankful for every person who walks through our doors, supports our businesses, tells a friend about us, chooses to shop local, or simply stops in to say hello.

​

Above all, we are thankful to God for opening doors we never could have opened ourselves and for allowing us the opportunity to serve the communities we call home.
